Visual Schedules for Summer

"I like having a routine, because everything else... is so unpredictable."

-Jordana Brewster

Visual Schedules have been a crutial necessity for many ASD and general ed classrooms. How are we doing using this valuable resource at home with our ASD children? For me, not so well. I have tried many schedules but none quite fit us. That is why I created my own specific for summer - The Summer Visual Schedule.

Why Visual Schedules Matter

Navigating daily routines can be overwhelming, especially for individuals with special needs. Visual schedules offer a clear, structured way to organize tasks, activities, and transitions. By providing a visual roadmap, they reduce anxiety, promote independence, and foster a sense of accomplishment.

What Make The Summer Visual Schedule Unique

Our Visual Schedule has 25 options and then 5 extra black labels for you to add your own (your child could even color them if you prefer). I even made some revisions so that it has 15 slots for one day. You get to put the pieces in order for your child's day. I usually take the time to print, cut out the pieces, laminate, and add velcro. I like to take an envelope and put all the extra pieces in it and use the velcro tabs to put up both the visual schedule and the envelope.
